Korean Hotels

Korean hotels are rated as super deluxe, deluxe, first class, second class and third class, but these ratings do not correspond with hotel ratings in Western countries. The hotel type can be identified by the number of mugunghwa (Rose of Sharon), the national flower. Rooms are available in two styles: Western with single or double beds and Korean, known as ondol (heated floor), with sleeping done on mats placed on the floor. Conference rooms, dining halls, restaurants, bars, duty free shops, health clubs and other facilities are available.

World Travel Guide

Some hotels have good views. Most hotels have easy access to transportation to the airport, as well as to popular tourist destinations. Rooms should be booked about a week in advance. In particular, booking should be made about 1 or 2 months in advance during peak seasons or international events. Check out is usually before noon. Room rates in general do not include meals. Confirm the room type before reserving as many hotels have no single rooms.

Hotels add a 10% VAT and 10% service charge.
Doors lock automatically upon closing. Please have a key with you at all times, or leave it with the hotel counter when going out.
